It should be pushed into the ground approx 250mm for stability. 

They sway in the wind as well, giving a free flowing natural presence. 
Being steel and plasma cut they may arrive with scratching and some rust depending on when they were made, but rest assured, a few weeks out in the weather they will start to slowly rust/patina as in the last picture showing corten steel ageing over 40 years.
